Good Morning Beauties!

You’re a third of the way through your journey. Congratulations! I hope you’re proud of yourself and have seen changes only God can bring. He is the life giver and wants you to have it in abundance.

Today we start our fourth attribute of who we are in Christ - ROYALTY. What or who do you think of when you think of royalty? Princess Diana? Jacqueline Kennedy? Mother Teresa? All beautiful women who served, whether it be charities, her husband, or the poor.

God is showing me today that true, noble royalty serve people. They do not focus on the luxuries of life riches provide for themselves, but rather use their wealth to bless others. Jesus was a perfect example. He was the King of Kings, but lived a simple life as a carpenter while on the Earth. He served the outcasts with His love, grace, mercy, and the priceless gift of prayer.

As God’s chosen daughter into His royal family, how will you serve others today? Will you use your finances?Your talent? Your time? Your prayers? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

Have you ever noticed when the joy of The Lord flows out of one of His sons or daughters, they seem to light up the room? Sometimes we use the term, “glow.” I’ve found even when the enemy is waging war against me, the light of Jesus still shines through. The light will not be extinguished!

My desire is to be used as an Ambassador of Christ while here on Earth, and I was deceived into thinking my beauty fades while going through a trial. Now I know the truth. In my weakness, He is strong! His light illuminates the Earth even more while going through difficulty. This truth has relieved a lot of pressure I was putting on myself.

Can you relate? Are you putting too much pressure on yourself to feel joyful while in the midst of trials? Are you concerned your light was dimmed in these moments? What do you think about this truth? Selah.

Let’s joyfully celebrate the awesome illuminating love of Christ today!

Joy of Connection

Good Morning Beauties!

Joy, Joy, Joy!!! Please forgive my tardiness this morning. I was spending glorious time with God and my husband in prayer and special time of connection. Talk about joy! I’m overflowing with it.

Let’s take a look at the perfect example of joy - Jesus. Here is what the Bible says about the subject:
1 “As for us, we have all of these great witnesses who encircle us like clouds. So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.

2 We look away from the natural realm and we fasten our gaze onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!”
Hebrews 12:1-2 The Passion Translation

A note from the translations says, “This was the joy of our salvation. He placed before his eyes the bliss we would forever share together with him, which empowered him to go through his agony.”

What empowers you to keep going through the difficult time, the “agony”? Is being together with God at the end of it all for eternity what drives you? What causes you joy? Temporal things are just that…temporary, so I encourage you to look deeper and look to your Creator. The enemy is deceiving you by putting Earthly things before you to bring momentary happiness. Don’t fall for the lie! It was the joy of being with you that kept Jesus moving toward the cross. Selah.

Joyful Peace

Good Morning Beauties!

We hear the word “grace” and immediately think of the common Christian definition, “The unmerited favor of God.” Yes, this meaning is absolutely true, but there is so much more to God’s amazing grace. In fact, I think we could study it for our entire lives and still not know the extent of it.

This morning God is reminding me of the sufficiency of His grace. When the enemy says, “You’re not good enough for ….. (fill in the blank)” God’s grace says, “You are good enough with the grace I’ve given you. I will make up for those areas where you are weak.”

Apostle Paul had the “thorn in his side” which he asked God to remove. Even Bible scholars do not know exactly what Paul’s issue was, but it was bad enough where he repeatedly asked God to take it away. Look at God’s response…

“Three times I pleaded with the Lord to relieve me of this. But he answered me, ‘My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.’ So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me.” 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 The Passion Translation

How beautiful is God’s grace! Where has the enemy taunted you about a weakness? It’s time to let God’s grace into that area and provide His power to overcome it. Are you willing to partner with God? Selah.

Unique and Free
Photo by Dawid Zawiła on Unsplash

Good Morning Beauties!

Are you feeling free today? The truth is you ARE free despite your feelings. The Holy Spirit dwelling inside you brings your spirit freedom. You are free to be the person God made you to be. If you’re not walking out your freedom, can you identify what’s holding you back? What has you bound? Are lies of the enemy keeping you from the destiny God has for you? Selah.

Let’s look at what God’s Word says about your freedom…

Romans 8:1-6 The Passion Translation
So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One. 2 For the “law” of the Spirit of life flowing through the anointing of Jesus has liberated us from the “law” of sin and death. 3 For God achieved what the law was unable to accomplish, because the law was limited by the weakness of human nature.

Yet God sent us his Son in human form to identify with human weakness. Clothed with humanity, God’s Son gave his body to be the sin-offering so that God could once and for all condemn the guilt and power of sin. 4 So now every righteous requirement of the law can be fulfilled through the Anointed One living his life in us. And we are free to live, not according to our flesh, but by the dynamic power of the Holy Spirit!

5 Those who are motivated by the flesh only pursue what benefits themselves. But those who live by the impulses of the Holy Spirit are motivated to pursue spiritual realities. 6 For the mind-set of the flesh is death, but the mind-set controlled by the Spirit finds life and peace.”

Write down in your journal the lies the enemy is using to keep you from your freedom and beside each one, write the truth of God’s Word. Are you willing to receive God’s truth today? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

What a gorgeous morning to praise our beautiful Jesus! Are there just some mornings when you wake up ready to start your day with a thankful shout unto The Lord? Today is one of those days for me. Hallelujah!

Today we start our next attribute of who we are in Christ - JOYFUL! What first pops into your head when you hear that word? Is it simply a feeling or something much more?

In my quiet time this morning, God showed me how my level of joy aligns with my level of gratitude I have for all He’s done for me and is to my life. When I pause an ponder all His marvelous deeds, I am filled with assurance, hope, and trust which all produce joy in my soul.

Will you make time to hear what God is saying to you about joy in your life? What is He wanting to reveal to you today? What lies need to be replaced with His truth? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

WOW! Day 10 already! We’re a quarter of the way through our journey, and I’d like for us to pause and do a little reflection today. If you compare your thoughts and feelings today from Day 1, do you see any growth? What are some lies the Lord has revealed to you, and what is the truth He put in their place? Selah. It might be helpful to write these down in your journal today and give God praise for what He’s done for you already.

Another thing I like to do at this time is look back to our preparation. How is the journey experience meeting your expectations? Is God doing all you thought He would? Are you willing to open up your heart to Him so He can make changes? How is your action plan working to deal with obstacles that are coming your way? Do you need to make revisions to your plan, or do you need to get a whole new plan? What about your motivation? Are you still desiring more of God in your life? Do you make the journey experience a priority in your day? Selah.

Please take time to answer these questions as you reflect, and remember today’s truth, “YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL.”

Love and Blessings,

Day 9 "You Are Lovely"
Just You And Me Photo by Joshua Eckstein on Unsplash

Just You And Me
Photo by Joshua Eckstein on Unsplash

Good Morning Beauties!

If we look at the root word of LOVELY, we see LOVE. If we are to be lovely, there must be love at our core. The true love that comes from Christ overflowing out of us as we walk with the Holy Spirit. Do you feel worthy to carry such a gift? Are you able? Selah.

Surrender is still on my heart this morning. The need to give my life to find my true life Jesus died to give me. The need to release control and let God be God. Why is it so difficult? Is it the length of time I’ve controlled my life? Or is it a trust issue? Do I trust Jesus enough to relinquish complete control? Can you relate to the need to surrender? Selah.

The enemy will be in your ear with his lies, telling you calamity is in your future unless you protect yourself. But the Lord tells us something different. He tells us, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 NIV.

Will you join me today in laying down your life to follow the One who gave us life?

What it means to be a follower of Christ - Mark 8:34-36 The Passion Translation
”Jesus summoned the crowd, along with his disciples, and had them gather around. And he said to them: ‘If you truly want to follow me, you should at once completely disown your own life. And you must be willing to share my cross and experience it as your own, as you continually surrender to my ways. For if you let your life go for my sake and for the sake of the gospel, you will continually experience true life. But if you choose to keep your life for yourself, you will forfeit what you try to keep. For what use is it to gain all the wealth and power of this world, with everything it could offer you, at the cost of your own life?’”

Humble Submission

Good Morning Beauties!

What a beautiful morning to wake up to the blessings of The Lord. His creation is stunning and speaks to me deep in my heart. How about you? Does God speak through nature to unveil His mysteries?

Yesterday we looked at how God is our strength and we share His awesome power through the Holy Spirit living in us. Today we’ll see how humility plays a role in all we do. It’s almost like a paradox, of strength and weakness, but humility is actually the greatest strength of all.

Dr. David Jeremiah has a wonderful study regarding the crowns we will receive in Heaven. Here are some of the scripture references from his study:

Victor’s Crown - 1 Corinthians 9:25-27
Crown of Rejoicing - 1 Thessalonians 2:19
Crown of Righteousness - 2 Timothy 4:8
Crown of Life - James 1:12
Crown of Glory - 1 Peter 5:4

The Bible tells us our works on Earth are rewarded in Heaven, and these are some, not all, of the rewards. And yet, as we stand before the Lord, face to face, we will simply cast our crowns at the feet of Jesus. For only He is worthy of such praise.

My question for you is this: Do we have to wait until we’re in Heaven to cast the praise from us to Jesus? Are we able to take our good reputation, our accomplishments, our abilities and surrender them all to Him now? True humility is having strength and yet laying it down before Jesus, the perfect example of a humble servant.

All Powerful God

Good Morning Beauties!

The magnificent majesty of our glorious God is not to be taken lightly. His grandeur is just that, His. Nothing can compare to our majestic and holy God. He is all powerful, has all strength, and holds the Earth in His hands. This is our God.

We, His children, have access to God’s power through the Holy Spirit who lives in us. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…” (Acts 1:8 NIV) By Jesus’ redeeming work on the cross, He takes our dirty garments off, and clothes us with His robe of majesty. Are you able to visualize it? Can you grasp just how amazing the gift God gives in the exchange? Selah.

If you’ve had a tough week, month, or perhaps season of hardships, know that you can find all the strength you need through the power living inside you. The enemy lies to us saying we are defeated, weak, we might as well give up. But those messages are just lies! Fix your eyes on the truth of Jesus and the promises He has made to you in the Bible. The Word of God is our weapon - it’s our sword. In those times we feel weak, we must pick up our sword and fight. Is now one of those times? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

Welcome to our next attribute and truth of who you are in Christ. You are LOVELY! What a beautiful word. I have always thought of this word as soft, feminine, meek, and something I didn’t relate to. Even through many many 40 Day Journey experiences, I still think the same thoughts about being lovely. What about you? What do you think about when you hear the word lovely? How do you relate to it? Selah.

God is really speaking to my heart about another layer of surrender. You see, I’ve always felt the need to protect myself because I didn’t feel protected as a child. This need to protect leads to controlling behavior. Any “control freaks” out there? God wants us to know we no longer have to protect ourselves. He is our protecter, provider and strength. We can run to Him and find refuge, and there we find rest.

“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” Psalm 91:4

Beauties, we can trust God. He has proven His faithfulness time and time again. He gave us His Son so we could be reconciled to Him forever. We can let go of the things we are still trying to control. What is He asking you to surrender today? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

Today we’re wrapping up the initial look at our first attribute of who we are in Christ - Beautiful. Let’s review how we interpret the word Beauty and how our perspective is different than God’s.

Where did you learn the meaning of Beauty? Was it from early childhood in your earthly father’s house? A specific situation? Multiple media messages? In the past few days, what has God spoken to your heart about your Beauty? Has there been a particular scripture verse, song, or impression He’s given you that made an impact?

Do you share the same perspective as God regarding your beauty, or is it different? Are you willing to surrender your ideas and allow His to become your new Truth? Selah.

See things from his perspective.

Good Morning Beauties!

We’ve come to look at this lyric, this truth again, “You ARE Beautiful.” How does this statement resonate with you today? Has it moved beyond the outside appearance?

God’s is speaking to me today about how we are chosen, hand selected by Him to be His children. I’m reminded of a time in Kindergarten when the drama coach was auditioning our class to be the children in the high school’s Christmas play. We all stood in a single file line and were asked to smile. “That’s it? Just smile?” I thought surely more would be required. So I smiled my biggest smile and was chosen as one of the few who made the cut.

To this day, I can remember how wonderful I felt to be chosen. I was special, loved, and accepted. God has chosen you to the best role ever…that of His child. The Creator of the Universe chose you! Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

The blue sky has been painted with pink brushstrokes this morning - just a wonderful way of God saying, “Good morning my beautiful daughter.” How does God speak to you?

Today God reminded me of His unchanging love for me. It’s the very same as when He created me, called me out of darkness, took me to the mountain top, and walked with me through failures. He loves me above the amazing creation found in nature and also above all the times I’ve disobeyed Him and broken His heart. His love is that big, that perfect.

What is He saying about His love for you? Are you putting restrictions on it? Do you believe you have to be “good enough” to earn it? He’s freely given it to you, have you received it? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

This truth makes my heart smile every time I hear it. I am the Daughter of The King! I am a Princess! Isn’t that the dream of every little girl?

What does it mean to you? Were you made to feel like a Princess growing up? Are you familiar with what it means to live with such a high position? There were several Disney Princesses who showed us what it looks like, right?

What if you never knew the Disney stories? What if you were never made to feel special? It might be a hard leap to relate to such an idea of being the daughter of any king let alone The King of All Kings.

Daughter of The King means that you are a beloved Child of God. No matter what your relationship was or is with your Earthly father, your Abba Father loves you and has given you the position of His Daughter. Where a mere mortal man may have failed you, God never will. His love for you is perfect.

Good Morning Beauties!

It’s here! The first day of our journey. I hope you are as excited as I am. Excited to see how God will meet us on our journeys and do a transformative work in us. Are you ready for a life change?

Our first word to ponder and pray about is BEAUTIFUL. The dictionary defines it as an adjective meaning, “pleasing the senses or mind aesthetically.” Is true beauty determined by the physical attributes of a person, or what’s on the inside of their soul? How do you define beauty? Please write it down in your journal.

How do you relate to your definition of beauty? Does something from your past effect the way you see your beauty? Is there a message you were given that made you believe you were less than what you consider to be beautiful? Let God bring to mind any lies the enemy placed there years ago regarding how you see your own beauty. Spend time letting God reveal truth to you this morning. Are you willing to open up and let Him in? Selah.

During a Bible Study of the Song of Solomon, I felt beautiful for the first time. The study was about 20 years ago, so there was a big part of my life where I did not feel or believe I was beautiful. In my case, my definition growing up was about the exterior, and not who God made me to be. The messages in my mind were full of what I wasn’t. I wasn’t thin enough, tan enough, tall enough, etc. All lies of the enemy saying I wasn’t enough. Through God’s love and grace, He showed me who I really am - and I’m beautiful, inside and out. The healing I needed took time, it was a process. The enemy still lies to me, trying to steal the healing I’ve received, but I take those thoughts to the foot of the cross and lay them down before Jesus.

We’re just starting, and there’s so much God wants to do for us. If we let Him, God will reveal lies we may not know exist and bring truth and healing. He’s such an amazingly loving Father who wants the very best for us.

Love and Blessings,
Kendra

Good Morning Beauties!

“Love God, your God, with your whole heart: love him with all that’s in you, love him with all you’ve got!” Deuteronomy 6:5 The Message Bible.

We’ve prepared our hearts by knowing what we expect from the journey, our minds by creating action plans to prevent the schemes of the enemy, and now today, we will prepare our souls. Today we will look at our deepest longing in our very core. Do you long for more of God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit? Selah.

I love this version of Psalm 27:4 from The Passion Translation. King David is known as “The one after God’s own heart” and this Psalm is a perfect example. “Here’s the one thing I crave from God, the one thing I seek above all else: I want the privilege of living with him every moment in his house, finding the sweet loveliness of his face, filled with awe, delighting in his glory and grace. I want to live my life so close to him that he takes pleasure in my every prayer.” Selah.

Do you CRAVE God like King David? What is your motivation to keep coming back to your journal and meeting with God for the next 40 days? What will keep you seeking Him each day despite the obstacles? Please write down your answers in your journal to refer to on those days when it’s difficult to keep going.

You are precious and adored, Beauties! God is looking forward to spending time together. He is longing for you as you are for Him.

Love and Blessings,

Distractions of the Journey

Good Morning Beauties!

It is such a beautiful morning! The air is crisp with a slight breeze and the sound of a light rain hits the leaves of the forrest of trees before me. We can see His glorious creation when we slow down. That’s what this journey is all about - slowing down to spend time with God and listen as He transforms you.

Welcome to our second day together preparing for our journey. Today we’re going to identify any obstacles trying to distract us from a successful experience with God. Remember our verse from John 10:10, “The enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy…” The enemy will try his best to destroy the blessing of your journey, so you must prepare to overcome the road blocks coming your way.

Please take your journal and find a good spot to write down the obstacles you anticipate. Beside each one, write down your action plan to overcome it. My top two are time (thinking I don’t have enough) and fatigue. I think these are very common for most Beauties.

I have one action plan to address both issues. (Killing two birds with one stone.) I slightly change my daily routine while I’m on my journey. Instead of going to bed at 11pm, I wind down and am in bed by 10pm. I make sure to get a good 7 hours of sleep, and so I get up at 5am. This small adjustment allows me an hour and a half to journal and share my thoughts on my blog, and then jump in the shower to be at work by 8:30. I’m rested and I have quality time with God each day.

How about you? What obstacles do you see? How will you defeat the enemy and his schemes? Selah.

I continue to pray for you as you prepare for your journey.

Our Journey Begins
Photo by John Westrock on Unsplash

Good Morning Beauties!

Thank you for joining me on our 2019 Fall 40 Day Journey. Let me begin by saying I admire your courage, strength and dedication to grow deeper in your relationship with God. We have a promise about our desire to seek God in Matthew 7:8, “For every persistent one will get what he asks for. Every persistent seeker will discover what he longs for. And everyone who knocks persistently will one day find an open door.”

As with any significant journey, we need to prepare. Friends of mine recently hiked the Appalachian Trail. For those of you who don’t know it’s 2,200 miles long! Their journey would take them months to complete, and the preparation for such a long journey took several weeks. How do we prepare for this spiritual journey? We will take the next three days to search our hearts and look at our expectations, obstacles, and motivations.

Today let’s define our expectations. Why are you taking this journey? Why now? What do you want to happen? What do you want God to do? What are you willing to do, to give, to surrender to consider it a successful experience? Selah. (Stop and ponder)

Take time this morning to pray and ask God these things. Find a place in your journal to write down your answers. You will want to refer back to them during your journey.

All of our journeys will be different, but we can all agree that today, as we begin, there is an uncertainty about where our journeys will take us. That’s okay. Do not fear. Though the experience is unknown, we do know the one who is leading us, and He will be with us to love and care for us the entire way.

Know that I’m praying for you and I believe in you!

Love and Blessings,
Kendra

Good Morning Beauties!

Today is a day to reflect on your 40 Day Journey experience. Like I said at the beginning of the book, everyone will experience a different journey. What was your's like? What lies did God silence? What are the Truths you now believe deep down in your heart? Can you write them down as a reminder of the work you completed on your journey?

What was the result of your journey as it relates to the 3 Days of Preparation? Did it meet your expectations? Why or Why not? Did the plans you made to overcome obstacles work? Were there unexpected obstacles? How was your motivation throughout the 40 days? Were you thirsty and ready to meet with God each day, or did some days feel less than exciting? There are no right answers, only honest ones.

I pray you have a greater knowledge and belief in who you are in Christ, and that you will experience greater freedom in your daily journey; freedom to be your True self and to fulfill your God given purpose.

If you have had a positive experience, I pray you will consider sharing your story with other women in your life. Jesus asks us to share what we've seen and heard as a witness of His ministry. I pray that you will also consider sharing about your journey on my website to encourage others to take their own 40 Day Journey with God, so they can also be set free from lies and deception into the glorious light of Love and Truth.

It has been a privilege and honor to have been a part of your journey of healing and restoration. I continue to pray for you and the blessed future God has in store. All joy and peace to you as we move forward in praise and adoration of our King for all that He's done and all that He's going to do.
