Good Morning Beauties!

We’re half way through our journey. Do you believe it? For me, these past 20 days flew by. How about you?

Today let’s examine the uncovered lies and the truth God has revealed thus far. During one of my first journey experiences, God revealed my true femininity despite years of being the Tomboy and thinking I had to always be tough on the outside in order to protect myself. The enemy’s lies told me people were always going to hurt me, so i had to keep up a protective wall around myself. He also said women were weak and silly and I sure didn’t want to be either of those things.

What has God shown you in your journey with Him? Grab your journal and make a list of the lies, and beside each one write the truth. You may want to look back at each day to remember how God has been faithfully revealing His truth to you this whole time. Selah.

Though words like ugly, unloved, lonely, hard, bound, sad, lowly, victim, and depressed describe how we may feel at times, they can also become our identity in which we live out our life. It’s vitally important to uncover the lies that bind you and free yourself with God’s truth of who you really are. Truth will allow you freedom to live the life you’ve always longed for, and in which He died to give you.

Let me be clear, the Anointed One has set us free—not partially, but completely and wonderfully free! We must always cherish this truth and stubbornly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past.

Good Morning Beauties!

Today let’s look at the security and protection we have as part of God’s Royal Family.  We can relinquish the lies which cause fear and move boldly forward knowing we are held in the hand of The Father, and His Angel Army is but a command away.

I was held up a gunpoint several years ago, and the lie I heard (and had believed) was it will happen again, except this time, it will be fatal.  What a lie!  This lie had brought fear into my life which limited my participation in certain activities I previously enjoyed by myself.  Because of the times we live in now with active shooters, the lie had grown. Thankfully, last summer, during my quiet time with God, He showed me a picture of a Princess behind fortified walls of a castle with an army of soldiers out front beyond the iron gate. I knew right then, as I do now, I have nothing to fear.

Dear Beauties, we are protected.  We are secure.  We are safe.  Selah.

Day 18 "Heaven's Glow From You Abounds"

Good Morning Beauties!

How do you define "Heaven's Glow"?  What is it exactly?  I think it's open for interpretation, but when I wrote the lyric, I was thinking about the love and light of Jesus pouring through us to bless others.

The Voice Bible Translation describes it this way, "And you, beloved, are the light of the world. A city built on a hilltop cannot be hidden. Similarly it would be silly to light a lamp and then hide it under a bowl. When someone lights a lamp, she puts it on a table or a desk or a chair, and the light illumines the entire house. You are like that illuminating light. Let your light shine everywhere you go, that you may illumine creation, so men and women everywhere may see your good actions, may see creation at its fullest, may see your devotion to Me, and may turn and praise your Father in heaven because of it." (Matthew 5:14-16)

The love of the Lord sets us free and allows the unquenchable glow to radiate from our very souls.  Have you ever seen a young woman in love?  Whether she's in love with a man, or perhaps she is pregnant with her child - she glows.  Do we think it would be any different to be filled with the Perfect Love of God?  Nope, we glow!

How will you let Heaven's Glow bless you today, so you can then bless others?  Selah.

Surrendered to the Victory

Good Morning Beauties!

Victory - an act of defeating an enemy or opponent in a battle, game, or other competition. (Google Dictionary)  If we walk this Earth with Christ as our Lord, we are victorious!   Jesus wore the True Victor's Crown - the crown of thorns - as He died on the cross to defeat the power of sin and death once and for all.  He won the battle when He rose from the grave into new life and now sits at the right hand of Father God.

How are you walking today?  As a victor or victim?  Sisters, we can not be both.  The enemy will continue to steal, kill, and destroy - but he does not have the victory over you - he does not have power over you.  Jesus told His disciples, “If you truly want to follow me, you should at once completely reject and disown your own life. And you must be willing to share my cross and experience it as your own, as you continually surrender to my ways." (Matthew 16:24)  Jesus wants to lead us into a Victorious life, but He demands complete surrender.

You are stronger than you think.  You are courageous and brave.  Will you obey through your fear and lay down your life (ambitions, hopes, dreams) to follow Him?  When you surrender, you will find Him faithful.  Ephesians 3:20 puts it this way, "Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you."

Are you willing? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

Congratulations!  You are doing so well staying committed and dedicated to your journey.  Your determination to sow time with God with an open heart will reap much reward.

Royalty...people of royal blood or status.  Do you believe you're a part of the Royal Family?  Not any on Earth of course, but the one that truly matters, THE Royal Family.  When we accept Jesus as our Savior, His redeeming blood allows us to be reconciled to The Father, and so it is TRUE - we belong to God's Royal Family.

The enemy is most likely telling you, "There's no way YOU are royalty!"  Remember, He's a liar.  Close your eyes and imagine what this royal status means for you.  What does it look like?  What is God showing you? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

Joy, Freedom, Grace, Peace....all magnificent gifts flowing from the love of Christ. These words bring healing power, and I pray you know or will know them intimately.

Joy, Freedom, Grace, Peace...these are words we've looked at this week along with their significance to our Joyfulness.  We are free from our chains and elevated to a place God intended for us.  His delight in us displays His grace. Jesus paid the price for our sins and we are reconciled with the Father forever.  Our acceptance by God ends our need for striving to please Him, and we find peace.

Being grounded in this Truth strengthens us through the difficulties in life.  In painful times, we must choose to rejoice.  We must remember the blessings of God; how He chose us, saved us, gave us new life, and will be with us for eternity.  We must also remember that He is right along side of us through the hardships.  God draws close to us as we draw close to Him.

What difficulty will you choose to rejoice in today?  Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

Today's verse is for all those perfectionists out there, (including myself) that are still dealing with working to gain God's acceptance and love. Let's get a real grasp for the word grace. “The undeserved favor of God.” Jesus came so we would not be enslaved by works (the law) but be accepted by God through Grace.

Romans 8:1-2 beautifully states this Truth, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death." New international Version

Can you rest in that Truth today? Can you imagine a life of no more stress and strain trying to be good enough? Grace says you are already good enough! Ahhhh, let that sink in and watch how peace fills your heart. Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

Freedom! Such a beautiful word and critical part of our spiritual journey. This 40 Day Journey exists to help free you from the bondage of lies the enemy has told you and walk in the freedom that Christ died to give you.

The verse that reassures me in my freedom is, "So if the Son sets you free, you are free indeed." John 8:36. Jesus has already done it...He has already set us free. Do you believe it? Do you trust Him?

I see this process as a circle. We BELIEVE the Word as Truth....We TRUST our life to Jesus...We RECEIVE the Freedom He has given us...We LIVE in Joy.

Where do you need help today? In believing? Trusting? Receiving? Living? Where is your circle broken?

I encourage you to spend time praying for revelation and healing of your broken place.

Good Morning Beauties!

Welcome to our third attribute - JOY!  What immediately comes to mind when you think of Joy?  Have you experienced much joy in your life?  Is this something you long for or already possess?

The word Joy is a noun and one definitions says, "a feeling of great pleasure and happiness."  In Christianity, it is much more than a a feeling...it is our strength!  Knowing God and knowing He loves us, we can be confident in every situation we face.  He is our security and is ever faithful to those who love Him.  This Truth is where our joy comes from.  It is not fleeting like a feeling, it is in our very soul and comes with the freedom we find in Christ.

The word Rejoice is a verb.  It is the action shown of the word Joy.  My mind always thinks of Paul who said, "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" (Philippians 4:4 NIV)  Now consider, Paul was in chains and in prison when he said these words.  What a picture!  The joy of the Lord surely was Paul's strength; strength to proclaim the goodness of God while he was suffering.  What an example he is to us.

Is this the joy you know?  What is God saying to your heart about His Joy today?  Do you trust him enough to let go of all anxiety and instead choose Joy? Are you ready to dance in your desert? Selah.

John Piper has a six part series on the subject of joy found in the book of Philippians. I’ve attached the link in case you want to check it out. Good Morning Beauties!

You're doing fantastic!  How do you feel, now that you're a quarter of the way into your journey?  Each day as you take time to spend with God you express your love for Him and commitment for a deeper relationship.  You've opened your heart for Truth and Transformation from the One who knows you best and loves you most.  Beautiful

Before we move on to our next attribute tomorrow, what did you hear from God about your beauty in loveliness?   Make sure you've heard all He has to say.  Selah.

I encourage you to return to Day 1 as a way to examine your progress.  Recount the lies that have been exposed with the light of His Truth in just these first 10 days.  Hallelujah!

Day 9 "You Are Lovely"
Day 9.jpg

Good Morning Beauties!

What has God been saying to you about the attribute of your Loveliness? Do you see that it contains strength alongside gentleness? Similar is the phrase often said about Jesus, “The Lion and The Lamb”. Jesus has the power to defeat any foe, and yet He laid down His life as the sacrificial Lamb to save us.

One of my favorite books in the Bible is Song of Solomon. It’s a romantic love story of Christ and His Bride, and reading it for the first time is when I began to realize just how much He really does love me. The revelation of Christ’s love changed me forever. I particularly love the following passage…

“For you are my dove, hidden in the split-open rock. It was I who took you and hid you up high in the secret stairway of the sky. Let me see your radiant face and hear your sweet voice. How beautiful your eyes of worship and lovely your voice in prayer.” Song of Solomon 2:14 The Passion Translation

Jesus kept me safe from harm by placing me in the cleft of the rock, but is now calling me to come out and be who He created me to be. He sees my beauty and wants to hear what I have to say through my pleasing voice. It’s a beautiful picture.

How is God choosing to speak to you about your Loveliness? Selah.

Day 8 "Yet You Wear Humility"

Servant

Good Morning Beauties!

We’ve all heard the popular expression, “The struggle is real.” Well, I struggle with humility. I have only recently gained the knowledge and belief in my true value, so I have a difficult time when someone mistreats me. But that’s just it! Humility isn’t allowing someone to treat us poorly.

The Lord is so patient and kind. He has taught me this lesson before, and is reminding me this morning ~ humility is simply thinking more about others than myself. It’s pretty simple really. Do I spend most of my time concerned for myself, my life, my convenience?

God is here to take care of me and all that concerns me, so there is no need for me to consume my time thinking of such things. My time and energy are to be on others, always others. Holy Spirit, please help me take my mind off myself and onto others and how I can best serve them. Show me today who I am to bless, encourage, and join in prayer.

Do you have the same struggle? What is God asking you to do?

Love and Blessings,
Kendra

Be free from pride-filled opinions, for they will only harm your cherished unity. Don’t allow self-promotion to hide in your hearts, but in authentic humility put others first and view others as more important than yourselves.

Good Morning Beauties!

Majesty is such a magnificent word! Webster's defines it as, "sovereign power, authority, or dignity" Google Dictionary says, "impressive stateliness, dignity, or beauty."

One word is common, dignity. How do you feel when you hear that you are clothed (covered) in dignity? It is TRUE!

As believers, we are in Christ, and He lives in us. Psalm 93:1 says, "The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The Lord has clothed and girded Himself with strength; Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved."

Are you easily moved? Do the winds and turbulence of life have you moving to and fro? Jesus has firmly established your life in Him and has clothed you with His Majesty, His Dignity. Ground yourself in that Truth today!

Enjoy this song as you spend time with God.

Good Morning Beauties!

The word LOVELY is special to me. During my second 40 Day Journey, the Lord blessed and changed me during my study of this stanza about my loveliness. Hallelujah!

I’ve always felt a little masculine - perhaps my role of being the Tomboy in the family had something to do with it. But aside from my looks and my family role, I thought I had to be strong. In fact the greatest defeat I could think of was being weak. Call me anything but weak! With this belief from the enemy, I became hard, rigid and selfish, nothing like the truth of who I was created to be.

During my journey experience, the kind and gentle Father revealed to my heart that I no longer had to be the protector, the provider, the parent to myself. He asked me to lay all that down, and simply trust Him to be my strength. He allowed me to be gentle, feminine, soft - all the things I equate with being lovely.

It takes courage and strength to lay yours down, trusting God to do what you yourself have always done, but that’s what God wants for all of us. Are you ready to lay down your armor of protection and rely of God for your strength today? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

Today we wrap up our first stanza. We’ve examined, prayed, pondered, and sought God’s truth about our beauty. What did He reveal about the truth of being a princess? About His love for you? About trusting Him?

The beginning of any journey allows you to course correct without much pain or difficulty. Please reflect to see how the first 5 days went for you. Are your expectations being met? Are there roadblocks getting in the way, or are your action plans keeping them at bay? How’s your motivation? Are you excited to spend time each day with God? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

There is something so special about seeking God in the morning. Jesus sought His Father in the quiet and newness of the morning. It’s my favorite time to spend quality time with Him too. It’s as if the world is still asleep and I have God all to myself for amazing conversations.

When is your special time with God? Are you finding enough time to hear all He has to reveal to you about your beauty? Do you need to make any adjustments in your schedule? Selah.

Good Morning Beauties!

You ARE a princess! Isn’t that what every little girl dreams of? I know I did, but that role was already taken in my family by my older sister, so I became the Tomboy. In my heart, I desired beautiful long hair and pretty dresses, but that was not for me. Pixie haircuts and plaid pants was my costume.

How about you? Do you remember your first encounter with being a princess in your family? Did you fulfill this role? Why do you think it may be significant in the way you see yourself today?

Of course it’s not just what we may have been called or the clothes we wore. The REAL question is did you feel cherished, adored, respected, protected, and loved? If any of these blessings were missed, perhaps it’s difficult to believe that God could actually feel them for you. The truth is HE DOES! Abba Father adores you, delights in you, even sings over you. Good Morning Beauties!

Welcome to the first day of our journey! I pray you’re excited with anticipation of all God has for you as you meet with Him for the next 40 days. Thanks for putting in the time and effort to prepare for what might just be a transformational experience in your life. Are you ready to take the first step on the path?

This blog is to help encourage you as your journey unfolds. Feel free to use it as often as you like or not at all. My prayer is that you will find it useful and insightful. I’m going on my journey right along side of you, and I’ll share thoughts, prayers, songs, and scriptures as God reveals new things to me.

When I first wrote the song for my friend, Liz, I heard the Holy Spirit say the banner over her was BEAUTY. Instantly, I knew He meant from the inside out. All of her was BEAUTIFUL; not what she did, but who she was.

I love the photo of the three girls. Each one has a different personality, from bold expressive to a little shy. Do you see beauty in each one? As we all know, beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, and backgrounds. We readily see beauty in others, so why is it so hard to see beauty in ourselves? Selah.

Do you still confuse your “who” with your “do”? I have to admit, sometimes I still struggle with how my less than perfect behavior extinguishes my beauty. But God didn’t say our behavior is beautiful, He said that WE are beautiful.

Perhaps a helpful exercise is to write down your definition of beauty. Grab your journal and write your thoughts about the word itself. After your definition, write down your thoughts about your own beauty as outlined in your journal. There are no correct answers, just honest ones.

Love and Blessings,
Kendra
