Day 32 "Darkness Turned To Light"
The Light of the World

The Light of the World

Good Morning Beauties!

Jesus, who is appropriately called, The Light of the World, will quench the darkness that lives inside of you. I know because He has done this very thing for me. You must be willing to trust Him and follow Him where He leads.

God is faithful to His promises. He will not let you down. Here are a few promises about leading you out of darkness:

“You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.” 2 Samuel 22:29

“He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light.” Job 12:22

“(You) turn night into day; in the face of the darkness, light is near.” Job 17:12

“You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.” Psalm 18:28

“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.” Isaiah 42:16

“I have come into the world as a light, so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness.” John 12:46

I pray your faith is strengthen by these scriptures - these Truths. Will you follow Him today as He leads you on unfamiliar paths? Selah.

Day 31 "You Are Purity"
Covered by Love and Light

Covered by Love and Light

Good Morning Beauties!

We are heading into the last 10 days of our journey! God is so pleased with your dedication and devotion to Him. Thank you for your commitment to keep going, especially on those tough times when it was hard to stop in the midst of all the world’s demands to spend time with God.

Today’s a great day to look back and reflect on how much growth you’ve seen in your personal relationship with God. Please write down in your journal the Truths you have learned, and how they’ve changed you. Refer to your expectations from Preparation Day 1 - how are you doing? Perhaps they’re not all being met, but are you in a better place then you were on Day 1? Even a little growth is much better than none at all. Be proud of your progress.

Today we begin to look at the 7th attribute, our Purity. What’s the first thing that comes to your mind? Is it sexual purity? Do you think of having a pure heart, pure thoughts, pure motives? Please take a few moments to write down your thoughts.

I think this area of purity is where the enemy has greatly lied to us. He has piled on the guilt and shame and has us believing we can never be forgiven for certain sins. He has us believing we are damaged, unworthy, and broken. Yes! We are, and that is exactly why Jesus came - to put us back together, call us His own, and to heal our hearts. So the lies the enemy tells us to keep us down, are the reasons Christ came to cleanse us and make us new.

If we are believing the lies, our behavior will reflect it. Our ways will be rebellious in the sight of the Lord because we are not accepting His Truth. I love how the scripture in Isaiah 1:18 describes God talking to His rebellious children, “Come on now, let’s walk and talk; let’s work this out. Your wrongdoings are bloodred, but they can turn as white as snow. Your sins are red like crimson, but they can be made clean again like new wool.” ~ The Voice Translation.

Do you see the loving way God is explaining Truth? What is He saying to you today about your purity? Selah.

Love and Blessings,
Kendra

Now, because of your obedience to the truth, you have purified your very souls, and this empowers you to be full of love for your fellow believers.

Day 30 "And You Are Beautiful"
Freedom Flight

Freedom Flight

Good Morning Beauties!

As we conclude our attribute of “Redeemed,” I have a question - do you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior? If your answer is yes, has this look at your redemption, how Jesus paid the price for your sins, deepened your love for Him? Has your devotion to your Savior been made stronger?

If your answer is no, now is the perfect opportunity to make your decision. Are you ready to lay down your burdens of guilt and shame and rise like an eagle in the freedom you’ve been given through the gift of Grace? The work has already been done - you just need to believe and receive it. Salvation is yours, if you want it. What will you choose this day? Selah.

Communion with your Creator is BEAUTIFUL! Enjoy your time with God. Be filled with His Grace and Mercy. Be moved by His Abundant Love. Enjoy HIM!

I would love to hear from you and how this attribute impacted you. Please reach out through the “Let’s Connect” section of my website. I would also love to pray with you to receive Christ or ask for a renewal in your walk with Him.

Day 29 "You Are Redeemed"
The Cross of Freedom

The Cross of Freedom

Good Morning Beauties!

After a difficult last two days, it’s time to celebrate - let’s rejoice in the Truth of our Redemption! The spotless Lamb paid our ransom and freed us to live a joyful life on Earth as it is in Heaven for eternity. Jesus has done it all. It is done. It is finished. Hallelujah!

I raise the question yet again, “so what?” Are we to live as free little birds, flying here and there without a care in the world? The answer is “no.” Father God and Jesus have done their parts, and now we are asked to do ours. Psalm 107:2 clearly states to tell others what the Lord has done for us - how He delivered us from destruction.

As you reflect on the miracle of your redemption, think about the things you are thankful for, and then start by telling God. Next, write a list of the people God wants you to share your story with. Selah.

Day 28 "For You The Savior Died"
God’s Love Revealed

God’s Love Revealed

Good Morning Beauties!

Today’s lyric is profound and life changing when we believe this Truth in our hearts. At times it’s easier to believe Jesus died to save “the world” than it is to bring it down to a personal level and ponder the fact He died for “me.” The Truth is, He did die for me and for you.

I think it’s important to know the motivation that sent Jesus to die an unspeakable death is God’s Love for us - a Love that is difficult to fathom. I also think it’s just as important to realize and see what Jesus actually did for us.

If you’ve been on this 40 Day Journey with me before, you know what comes next. I can think of no better depiction of the sufferings of Christ than “The Passion” movie. Below you will find a song I’ve loved since I first heard it in high school appropriately called “The Day He Wore My Crown” by Sandi Patty. Somehow, these two wonderful pieces of art have been combined to create an incredibly moving experience.

It will be difficult to watch, but I encourage you to watch anyway, knowing Truth and Revelation await you. Truth of what Jesus did for you, and Revelation of God’s Perfect Love for you. Selah.

The Perfect Sacrifice

Good Morning Beauties!

My encouragement today is simple - Jesus, the spotless and perfect Sacrificial Lamb paid the ransom for you. What sacrifice are you still trying to offer God instead of accepting His Grace by Faith? Selah.

Today, let’s spend our time praising Jesus for what He’s done for us and lingering in His beautiful presence.

Day 26 "You Are Redeemed"
The Beauty of The Blood

The Beauty of The Blood

Good Morning Beauties!

These next few days are incredibly important and personal between you and Jesus....I pray that you will make extra time to meet with Him, open your heart wide, and soak in the Truth that is waiting for you. This attribute of being redeemed, is life changing, so please slow down and listen.

The Garden of Eden was a beautiful place where God dwelled with man, but it didn’t stay that way. When sin entered the Garden through the enemy, the Bible calls it the Fall. We became separated from God, because He is Holy and can not dwell with sin. God loves us so much and desires nothing more than to be in relationship with us, so He created a way to be united once again. That way has a name, and that name is Jesus.

Let’s look at the word redeemed, "the purchase back of something that had been lost, by the payment of a ransom." The payment for our very souls is the precious blood of Jesus. God sent His Son to pay the price to be united with His children once again.

Do you see the greatest example of Love? The Bible says, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13 New International Version

What is God speaking to you about Redemption? His Son, Jesus? Your need of a Savior? His Love for you? Selah.

The Beauty of Confidence

The Beauty of Confidence

Good Morning Beauties!

I love the look of a confident woman! The look in her eye is fierce. She is unafraid. She gets what she wants. She’s not afraid to work hard and reach her goals. She is strong. Do you know this woman? Are YOU this woman?

What we don’t see on the inside is her reliance on God. Her steadfast belief that He will see her through any situation. She holds onto Truth that tells her, “All things are possible with God.” She relies on His strength. I ask you again, do you know this woman? Are YOU this woman?

Lay down the guilt, surrender the shame - trust in your right standing with God. He wants to use you for His Kingdom in mighty ways. Be confident and know - you ARE this woman. Selah.

Day 24 "You Are Righteous"
Prayer of Repentance

Prayer of Repentance

Good Morning Beauties!

Today is a great day to reflect on your belief in righteousness - your righteousness. Are you free from guilt, shame, feeling unworthy? Let’s take a look at the Truths we reviewed in the past few days, and see if the lies have been extinguished. Take out your journal and answer the following questions. Be honest with yourself and pray your heart allows God to reveal what He wants you to know.

Do you believe the work has been done for you on the Cross of Calvary? Do you believe you have been saved from eternal damnation and into His glorious life spent with God forever? Do you believe you have been sanctified by the Holy Spirit? Do you believe your sins have been forgiven as far as the East is from the West? Do you believe you are free from sin, just as if you have never sinned? Take some time to review each of these questions. What do you really believe? Selah.

But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Day 23 "Forgiven Justified"
A Peace Offering

A Peace Offering

Good Morning Beauties!

Don’t you just love a good story? One of my favorites in The Bible is the transformation of Saul to Paul. Jesus appeared before Saul, (who had been persecuting Christians), on the road to Damascus, and shared The Truth and his life was changed forever. This redemptive story shows how the Love of Jesus can turn anyone away from the Darkness of Lies to the Light of Truth!

The change was amazing, and yet it put Paul in a very difficult position. His own people would be furious that he was siding with the Gentiles, but the Gentiles had just witnessed Paul persecuting their families and were obviously not fans of his.

Jesus spoke to Paul and said, “And I will protect you from both your own people and the Gentiles. Yes, I am going to send you to the Gentiles to open their eyes to their true condition so that they may repent and live in the light of God instead of in Satan’s darkness, so that they may receive forgiveness for their sins and God’s inheritance along with all people everywhere whose sins are cleansed away, who are set apart by faith in me.” Act 26:17-18 - The Living Bible.

In our righteousness, our “right standing with God,” we are forgiven and justified. God as Judge has proclaimed us innocent, though we are guilty, through His grace. We can learn from Paul’s story so many precepts. One is asking for forgiveness from others. You can bet he humbly asked the Gentiles to forgive his previous actions as he began to build trust with them.

We talk a lot about forgiving other people, but today, let’s look at who we need to ask forgiveness from. What actions or behaviors have you done that need forgiveness from someone? Selah.

Love and Blessings,

Day 22 "Saved and Sanctified"
Rescued by Love

Rescued by Love

Good Morning Beauties!

What a beautiful morning as we embrace the Truth of our Salvation and Sanctity. These are the most important gifts we’ll ever receive, and the difficult part to believe is they’re free. There is nothing we have to do or pay, just believe in the Amazing Grace God showed us in His Son, Jesus.

I found a wonderful study that explains the gifts of Salvation and Sanctification. Please take a few minutes and read the article. There are links to several scriptures you may find helpful. Here’s a section where the difference between the two gifts are explained…

Sanctification - Different Than Salvation
It is important to differentiate between justification and sanctification. Justification is another word for salvation. Jesus gave his life on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. His blood washes away our sins and frees us from an eternity of suffering and condemnation. Believers are saved because of what Christ has already done. We can do nothing to earn salvation, it is the gift given to every child of God regardless of race, age, maturity, or merit. Sanctification occurs as a result of salvation. At the moment of conversion, the Holy Spirit enters our life. We are no longer held hostage by death, but are free to live the life God desires for us. We are thus sanctified simply because of our standing as lost souls saved by grace.

Following Jesus - Sanctification

I pray that you take time to delight in the Love of God. He saved us from eternal damnation and to an eternal Heaven. He is worthy of our heartfelt adoration. How will you praise Him today? Selah.

Day 21 "You Are Righteous"
Crowned with Blessings

Crowned with Blessings

Good Morning Beauties!

Do you struggle to do enough right things to please God? Do you keep track of the right things and hope they are more than the wrong things you do? Of course we don’t actually keep score on paper, but in our minds. This type of living is how the enemy keeps us bound by the law.

There is good news my sisters! Jesus came so that we are no longer slaves to the law, but have been freed by faith. We no longer have to strive to be good enough, do good enough - He’s already done the work for us. Our only thing to do is to believe in Him, and the atoning work on the cross.

Paul writes to the Philippians in 3:8-9, “Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have put aside all else, counting it worth less than nothing, in order that I can have Christ, and become one with him, no longer counting on being saved by being good enough or by obeying God’s laws, but by trusting Christ to save me; for God’s way of making us right with himself depends on faith—counting on Christ alone.”

Are you ready to lay down the burden of trying to be good enough and receive Jesus’ gift of grace? Are you ready to accept that He has made you righteous? Selah.

Day 20 "And You Are Beautiful"
Resting in the Love of The Shepherd

Resting in the Love of The Shepherd

Good Morning Beauties!

Can you believe it? We are half way through our journey together! I pray you are feeling proud of your accomplishment and inspired to complete the second half with anticipation.

Let’s look back at the past 20 days and see what God has done. In Joshua 4, God asked Joshua to place 12 stones in the Jordan River as a memorial of what He had done for the Israelites. God wants us to remember His faithfulness, so we will continue to trust Him going forward.

Will you do that today? If you had to title your stones, what would those titles be? Look at the 4 attributes we’ve covered so far: Beauty, Lovely, Joyful, Royalty. Perhaps taking time to color the first 4 creative pages in the back of your journal will help you meditate on the blessings and Truth God has shared with you over the past 20 days.

If you’re like me, you’re results driven and are motivated by them. What results have you seen in your journey so far? Have your results, or lack of them, not met your expectations? If that’s the case, take a look at what you’re doing to fulfill your part of your expectations. I believe God will fulfill His part. Also look to see if your action plan is keeping your obstacles at bay, or do you need to make adjustments to help you walk this journey free of any hindrances? Reflect on the motivations you had in Preparation Day 3. Are those still a driving force for you? Do you need to seek deeper motivations? Selah.

I pray as you look back to Day 1, you will see growth. I pray you can identify the lies you were believing, and can speak God’s Truth over them until they disappear. I pray you have a knowledge of who you Truly are in Christ, and that you believe You Are Beautiful.

Love and Blessings,

Day 19 "You Are Royalty"
Fit For A Princess

Fit For A Princess

Good Morning Beauties!

God’s timing is so perfect! For the past few days we’ve been looking at our Royal Status in the Kingdom of God. Sunday evening I had the privilege of attending a work event at a spectacular venue that was out of a dream. As I approached the stately white building with the round driveway, I knew it was going to be special - and it was.

As I reflect on the evening, one thing is clear - I believe who God says I am. Years ago, I would have felt undeserving of being in such a grand ballroom. I would have felt like an imposter, not belonging like everyone else. Anxiety and awkwardness would have flooded my emotions making it an extremely uncomfortable event.

The growth and belief in my Royal Status allowed me to have a wonderful time, enjoying every minute. How is this possible? What made the difference? God silenced the lies from the enemy that told me I was not good enough, I would never measure up, I did not belong. He replaced the lies with His Truth - I am made good enough by the Blood of The Lamb, His sacrifice has made me perfect in His sight, and I belong to The King Of Kings, Abba Father, Creator of the universe.

What about you? What do you believe? Do you fit in? Do you feel like an imposter - not good enough to be with everyone else? The Truth is, you DO fit in - into the Royal Family of God. Read the beautiful scripture below. Try to memorize it and have it ready in your heart for those times you need a reminder of your place in God’s Family.

Love and Blessings,

Day 18 "Heaven's Glow From You Abounds"
Glowing From Within

Glowing From Within

Good Morning Beauties!

Today is one of those days when my action plan to keep obstacles at bay did not work. I didn’t get to bed until late last night, so naturally, I’m very sleep this morning. Though I didn’t have a lot of time to spend with God, I prayed, listened to the song and asked for wisdom.

God did not disappoint! His faithfulness is my anchor. Here’s what He helped me understand today about Heaven’s Glow. When we come to Him, as a child comes to their Father for wisdom, He imparts eternal knowledge of Himself and His plans and purposes. He provides helpful instruction for our daily walk with Him. This impartation of who He is and the fact that He lives in us, is like a piece of Heaven’s Glorious Light is now radiating through our very soul. The picture above perfectly illustrates this transfer.

So what? (As I always like to ask.) Are we made to go around glowing just for the sake of showing people we’ve been touched by God? No. We are called to action. With our filling of the Love of God and His supernatural wisdom, we are to lead others to this same knowledge. God wants all His children to be in relationship with Him. We get the honor of helping Him do so.

How is your Heavenly Glow today? Are you drawing closer to God? Does His love radiate from you? Are you leading others to the knowledge of Christ? Selah.

Day 17 "You Wear The Victor's Crown"
A Crown of Beauty

A Crown of Beauty

Good Morning Beauties!

Here in Minneapolis, we’ve woken up to a fresh blanket of white. Winter is so incredibly beautiful. To warm us up, I’m going to share the blog from Day 17 of our Summer Journey. Sometimes God gives me a golden nugget that has to be shared more than once. Enjoy!

Are you walking in victory today?  What does it look like?  Success? Power? Ease?  Or does it look like Perseverance? Trust through Trials? Faith through Fear?  Can it be Both?  Selah.

Jesus was our Perfect Example of Victory and is the ultimate wearer of the Victor's Crown.  Let's learn from His example.  The Bible teaches us how in Hebrews 12:1-2.  "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles; and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

What does your Victor's Crown look like?  Why not take a few minutes and draw it on today's  page while you listen to this song...

Day 16 "You Are Royalty"
God’s Royal Creation

God’s Royal Creation

Good Morning Beauties!

The thought of being a member of a royal family puts a smile on my face. You too? From the time we’re little girls playing dress up, we all wanted to be the Princess, right? Well, probably most of us. It’s no surprise that every Disney story has the Princess, the royal family, which we girls love and want to be just like.

Did you watch the latest British royal weddings? Did you envy Kate or Meghan as they arrived to the church with adoring fans watching as they took their first step out of the carriage? Did you daydream about what it is going to be like to live inside the beautiful castles with their princes? It’s normal and natural to think it’s going to be an amazing life for Kate and Meghan.

Here’s the Truth - we ARE a part of THE ROYAL FAMILY! God’s Family! He has promised us we are His children and heirs with Christ. He calls us “a royal priesthood.” It doesn’t matter where we’ve come from or what we’ve done, as a believer in Christ, we are adopted into His Royal Family.

Imagine all that comes with being Royal. Take a few minutes to write your thoughts down in your journal. While you do so, listen as God speaks to your heart about how He’s provided all those things to you, His child. Selah.

As our time together looking at “Joyful” comes to an end, please reflect on how your perception of Beauty has changed? Do you see Joy as a sense of being, not a mere feeling?

Day 14 "You Are Joyful"
Joy + Laughter = Beauty

Joy + Laughter = Beauty

Good Morning Beauties!

It’s a beautiful snowy morning, and I’m finding much joy in it. The Beauty of Winter is overwhelming at times, and for me, it also brings fear. I absolutely hate driving on slick roads. Today, instead of giving in to the fear of driving to work, I’m going to enjoy the ride, slow as it may be, and appreciate the beauty of snow covered trees and landscape. I’m choosing Joy!

Sometimes in life we can make choices, and other times, we must rely on God to make a way. Jesus made a way for us to eternal life with God The Father. The work is already done! His extraordinary gift of Grace has allowed us to stop striving and simply rest in His Peace which brings us great JOY. Knowing Jesus, we find Hope for the future.

I like how scripture describes this expectant hope in Psalm 126:5-6, “And now, God, do it again -bring rains to our drought-stricken lives so those who planted their crops in despair will shout hurrahs at the harvest, so those who went off with heavy hearts will come home laughing, with armloads of blessing.” - The Message Bible

Day 13 "Grace Has Brought You Peace"
Resting in the Perfect Peace of Christ brings unspeakable JOY!

Resting in the Perfect Peace of Christ brings unspeakable JOY!

Good Morning Beauties!

Are you enjoying our look at “JOY” this week? I love thinking about Joy and taking time to recall all the things in my life that make me feel Joyful. How about you? What can you be Joyful about today? Selah.

In my reflection, I always come to God’s gift of Grace as one of the greatest things to bring me Joy, but also Peace. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it was only through this wonderful grace that we believed in him. Nothing we did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the gracious gift from God that brought us to Christ! 9 So no one will ever be able to boast, for salvation is never a reward for good works or human striving.” - The Passion Translation.

To know that God’s gift of Jesus leads to my salvation, not striving to be “good enough” to earn it, brings Peace. I love what Jesus says in John 14:27, “I leave the gift of peace with you—my peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but my perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts—instead, be courageous!” - The Passion Translation.

God changed my view of peace this morning by that last little bit - “instead, be courageous!” My idea of peace has always been a kind of rest. Resting from fear, doubt, striving. I think it’s still all those things, but it also brings a confidence that leads to courage. Love it!

What is God revealing to your heart today? Selah.

Love and Blessings,
Kendra

May grace and perfect peace cascade over you as you live in the rich knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
