Good Morning Beauties!
Our ulimate example of humility is Jesus. Be inspired today…
”In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!”
Philippians 2:5-8 (NIV)
Here’s another beautiful scripture with a picture of what God desires for us…
“So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.”
Colossians 3:12-14 (MSG)
If you’re like me, you respond by letting Jesus know, “yes, yes, I want to be that beautiful woman You describe here, but how? How do I maintain this expectation when I have a million things to accomplish today and everyday. I need to be a great wife, mother, employee, ministry leader, mentor, friend, care provider. How Lord? How do I do it all?”
Jesus hears our plea and answers us through the Apostle Paul….
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:4-7 (NIV)
What are a few key points God wants you to learn from this passage? Write them down in your journal and thank Jesus for the deeper revelation of these truths today. Selah.
Here’s my revelation for the day…
We must live with an Eternal perspective about everything, including our need for God. Yes, we are to grow and mature in our Christian faith, but unlike Earthy expectations, we do not grow independent of our Father. We are to live a life in constant dependence on Him. This reliance keeps us humble, knowing that apart from Him we can do nothing. (John 15:5)
I know Beauties, you have surrendered your lives to the Lord and are serving Him. At the same time you are exhausted and are finding your purpose more of a grind than a fulfilling call from the Lord. Ask yourself a few questions:
Why do I still try to take control? Why do I still focus on my performance of how I’m serving God? Why won’t I simply let go? Selah.
Here are a couple of beautiful songs that speak to the beauty of surrender and humility. Offer these up to your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as your prayer today.
