Day 21 "You Are Righteous"
Good Morning Beauties!
I’m excited to start our next few days as we look at the next attribute, RIGHTEOUS, and the truths God wants us to know. We will look at the amazing gifts from Jesus including salvation, and forgiveness. For those of you who are new to your Christian journey or are here to seek truth, these next few days are critical and foundational to your faith. If you are more mature in your walk with the Lord, you will still have the opportunity to solidify your beliefs and move deeper still with Jesus.
Righteous - Our faith has made us right with God. He sees us as sinless and guilt free because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Let’s read about this truth in the Bible.
“But now God has shown us a different way to heaven —not by “being good enough” and trying to keep his laws, but by a new way (though not new, really, for the Scriptures told about it long ago). Now God says he will accept and acquit us—declare us “not guilty”—if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like.” Romans 3:21-22 (TLB)
Hallelujah! We no longer have to worry about doing all the right things or trying harder to make things perfect. God already sees us as perfect. We can simply be who we’re created to be and enjoy our relationship with Jesus. The days of striving to be good enough are gone.
It’s time to do a little self-assessment. What do you worry about most? How much time do you spend thinking you have disappointed God? Selah.
Another thing we need to discover is our need for other’s approval as we try to meet their expectations. Why is this so important? Who’s expectations is it viatally important for you to meet? What will happen if you don’t? Perhaps that person is you. Selah.
Let’s step into a new freedom today knowing that we are already right with God, and there is absolutely nothing we can do to make Him more pleased with us than He is right now. No longer do we have to balance the scales with more good deeds than bad. We can also lay down the need to please others. If we are pleasing and acceptable to God, nothing else should matter. Are you holding anyone’s opinion of you higher than God’s? Selah.
