Day 8 "Yet You Wear Humility"

Ultimate Humility

Good Morning Beauties!

Today we move from the mighty mountain of Majesty to the servanthood of humility. They seem like a contrast, but both are awesome in power.

God had me examine my pride this morning. Just when I think I’m doing better in this area of my life, I find that I still have this ugly monster dwelling in me. It’s the flesh, and until I’m with Jesus, the Spirit within me will always war against the flesh.

So, in the midst of the war, how do we truly put others before ourselves? Have you figured it out? Let’s look to the ultimate example of humility - JESUS.

Philippians 2:3-8 NIV instructs us to have the same mindset as Jesus when it comes to relinquishing our pride and loving others, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,  not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.  In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:  Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;  rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!”

After being tortured and humiliated, Jesus still had us on his mind. As he was being nailed to the cross, Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:24 NIV Can you think of a more humble act than that?

What is Jesus speaking to your heart about how you view and serve others? Pray and ask the Spirit to help you in areas of pride and to reveal practical ways to lift others up.
