Day 4 "You Are Beautiful"

Good Morning Beauties!

It’s the weekend and I pray we all take a little extra time to enjoy the presence of our beautiful King, Jesus.

As I prepare to meet with some girlfriends today - stunningly beautiful girlfriends - I find myself wanting to look beautiful for them. You know, just the right outfit, jewelry, and hairstyle. Should I wear my glasses? No, it’s going to be cold, they’ll just fog up. Do you do the same thing? Be honest. I have to admit, I feel a little less beautiful when I’m around them. Are we playing the comparison game? Women are so good at it. Why do we do it?

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy fashion and believe we are to present ourselves in an excellent manner, but am I focusing too much attention on it out of insecurity? That’s the real question,

The Spirit brought a scripture to mind this morning. I love this scripture! It takes the focus off of us and tells us what to think about. Thank you Lord! Let’s look at Philippians 4:8. I believe Paul is describing Jesus… “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

This truth allows us to enjoy Jesus and helps us take the focus off ourselves, which brings me to another question…Do I believe I’m beautiful as a person? That’s where the truth of Jesus resides.

Another picture that came to mind today is of the bride getting ready for the bridegroom. That’s what I want to do each morning, preparing to spend time with my Jesus, not friends, co-workers, or anyone else…just Jesus. What does he say when he sees you? Does he look at your appearance, your heart, both?
