Day 8 "Yet You Wear Humility"
Good Morning Beauties!
Thanks for joining me here today. I pray you are leaning in and breathing in the beautiful Love and Truth God has for you. He longs for you to meet Him each day so He can reveal Himself to you. Are you longing for Him too?
Yesterday we stood in awe of God’s Majesty. Unlimited power and might, able to win every battle, able to pull down any stronghold, able to defeat any foe. He created everything from nothing and has complete command over it. Who else can quiet the storm - both literal and figurative?
Today we’ll take a look at the “quiet” side of Jesus. I’ve used this illustration in prior journeys, but it is the most perfect example of Humility I know. The gospels tell of how Jesus was tortured by the Roman guards, both physically and emotionally. They scourged Him, spat upon Him, and humiliated Him, made Him carry His own cross - and Jesus remained silent through it all. He said nothing. Though He could call down a legion of angels from Heaven to save Him, He knew in order to save us, He would have to die on that cross. It wasn’t until He hung on His death device that He said His first words, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they are doing.” Luke 23:34 - New International Version.
Make no mistake, the humility Jesus showed as He suffered pain, agony and death may have appeared quiet, but it spoke loudly to the enemy! The grave had been denied, death lost its sting, and we have eternal life! Humility is simply putting others first. Isn’t that what Jesus did? Our salvation and reconciliation with the Father was more important than His own life!
God moved through Heaven and Earth through the Humility of Jesus. As His disciples, we too have power through the Holy Spirit to “cast mountains into the sea,” but are required to conduct ourselves with humility….thinking of others before ourselves.
Have you heard Jesus called "The Lion and The Lamb”? It’s a great way to understand His power and His humility. Enjoy the song below and pray about how God wants you to move in humility today. Selah.
