Preparation Day 3

Communion with God

Communion with God

Good Morning Beauties!

In the past two days we’ve looked at our expectations of our journey and the obstacles that may get in the way. I trust you’ve given thought to these two topics and have written them down in your journal as a guide to help your focus during your experience.

Today we’re looking at motivation. Why do you want to take this 40 Day Journey? What is it in your life that is calling you to a deeper relationship with God? Has something changed? Do you find yourself in a valley and want to be brought out or are you in a mountain top place in your life where you want to grow even closer to God? Is it somewhere in between?

I love the verse in Psalm 42:1 from The Passion Translation, “I long to drink of you, O God, drinking deeply from the streams of pleasure flowing from your presence. My longings overwhelm me for more of you!” King David, often quoted as “the man after God’s own heart”, wanted to be in the presence of God and in deep relationship with Him more than anything else. Is that where you are? Longing for God? Longing for Truth?

Our desire to be close with God is a great motivator on those cold mornings when we’d rather stay in our warm bed a little longer instead of getting up and meeting with Him. Take some time this morning to write down the reason for taking your journey. Dig deep and know that you may need to come back to your answer to keep your momentum through the process.

Love and Blessings,
Kendra

Come close to God [with a contrite heart] and He will come close to you.
